What categories can goods be divided into in international express delivery?

In international express delivery, goods can usually be divided into the following three categories:

1. General goods

General goods refer to those items that are used daily and have no special requirements for transportation and storage. These items are neither charged nor magnetic, and are not potentially sensitive ingredients such as liquids, powders, and cosmetics. General goods can be smoothly transported through international express delivery channels without additional special processing or approval. Common general goods include:

Textiles: such as clothing, shoes, curtains, bedding, etc.

Daily necessities: such as paper towels, mirrors, suitcases and other household gadgets.

Furniture series: dining tables, sofas, bed frames, lockers, chairs, etc.

Stationery and accessories: stationery, hairpins, earrings, necklaces, sunglasses, glasses, etc.

Machinery and electrical equipment: some machinery, vehicles (without batteries or magnetism) and electrical equipment (non-sensitive).

Publications: newspapers, magazines, periodicals, books for the blind, books (excluding religious and foreign original books), etc.

2. Sensitive goods

Sensitive goods are goods between general goods and prohibited goods, which may involve some prohibited goods with lax supervision or items with certain special properties. These items need special attention during transportation and may be subject to certain restrictions. Common sensitive goods include:

Food and medicine: Food (must comply with import and export food safety standards, have formal commercial packaging and product logos, non-liquid powder, non-highly sensitive items, such as biscuits, instant noodles, tea, etc., but pure meat products cannot be shipped by sea; uninspected meat, seeds, baked goods, seasonings and various types of medicines without legal certificates are excluded), non-anesthetic, non-white powder, non-raw herbal medicines and non-poisonous Chinese and Western medicines (all with packaging boxes and instructions can be sent, such as amoxicillin, antipyretic patches, bupleurum, etc.; perfumes are also included in this category, but they must be non-liquid powders).

Liquid, paste and powder products: such as cosmetics (foundation liquid, toner, facial mask, etc.), skin care products and personal care products.

Charged and magnetic items: such as power banks, smartphones, smart watches, electric toys, speakers, microphones, headphones, motors and electrical equipment that may contain batteries (such as lawn mowers, golf carts, wheelchairs, etc.).

Brands and luxury goods: high-end goods such as bags and watches from well-known brands.

It should be noted that official channels for air transport and international express delivery generally do not undertake the transportation of sensitive goods, but they can be mailed through special channels by finding a strong international express agent or container shipping company. However, these goods may require additional fees or processing time and are subject to certain quantity restrictions (usually within the scope of personal consumption).

III. Prohibited items

Prohibited items refer to items that are clearly defined in China and internationally as prohibited from transportation. These items involve safety hazards, legal prohibitions or moral ethics, and any export behavior involving such items is illegal. Common prohibited items include:

Highly toxic and infectious substances: such as dangerous pathogens, untreated medical waste, etc.

Items prohibited from circulation by law: cultural relics, controlled knives, antiques, weapons and ammunition, etc.

Radioactive and dangerous goods: explosives, nuclear energy materials, etc.

Other prohibited items: such as narcotics, psychotropic drugs, smuggled goods, counterfeit currency, pirated books, illegal publications, etc.

International express companies are strictly prohibited from transporting prohibited items. If you try to mail prohibited items, not only will the package be returned or destroyed, but you may also face legal liability and fines.

Goods in international express delivery can be divided into three categories: general goods, sensitive goods and prohibited goods. When mailing international express delivery, be sure to understand and comply with relevant laws and regulations to ensure that the items you send meet the transportation requirements and avoid unnecessary trouble.
