International Express Cargo Classification

International express cargo can usually be divided into the following three categories: general cargo, sensitive cargo and prohibited goods. The following is a detailed explanation of these three categories of cargo:

1. General cargo

General cargo refers to items that have no special requirements and only require routine transportation, loading and unloading and storage. Such goods can be exported normally without special permission or processing. Common general cargo includes but is not limited to:

Textiles: such as clothing, shoes, handbags, etc.

Daily necessities: such as stationery, office supplies, glasses, sunglasses, accessories, etc.

Electronic products: such as household appliances, gadgets and other non-hazardous electronic products.

2. Sensitive cargo

Sensitive cargo is between general cargo and prohibited goods. Although it is not completely prohibited to transport, due to its special nature, special attention needs to be paid when transporting. Sensitive cargo mainly includes:

Electrical cargo: equipment containing batteries, such as mobile phones, laptops, power banks, game consoles, electric toys, etc.

Magnetic goods: such as speakers, headphones, microphones and other magnetic items.

Liquids, pastes, powders: such as cosmetics (liquid foundation, toner, essence, cream, mask, lipstick, etc.), skin care products, perfume, shampoo, shower gel, milk powder, seasoning, etc.

Food, medicine: such as health products, nutritional products, tea, dry goods, snacks, snail noodles, instant noodles, hot pot base, spicy strips, dried tofu, instant products, kitchen seasonings, Chinese and Western medicines (non-anesthetic, non-white powder, non-raw herbs and non-poisonous drugs), etc. However, it should be noted that pure meat products cannot be shipped by sea, and non-snacks and large pieces of meat, even if vacuum packed, cannot be mailed abroad.

3. Prohibited items

Prohibited items refer to items that are clearly prohibited from being transported in international transportation, and transporting such items is illegal. Prohibited items include but are not limited to:

Weapons: such as guns, ammunition, explosives, etc.

Illegal items: such as drugs, obscene items, etc.

Biological items: such as live animals, plants, etc.

Other prohibited items: such as protected cultural heritage, cultural relics, various strong poisons and infectious substances (anthracnose, dangerous pathogens, medical waste, pesticides, cyanide, arsenic, etc.), addictive narcotics and psychotropic substances (opium, morphine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, etc.), items prohibited from circulation or shipment by national laws (controlled knives, antiques, various weapons, ammunition, etc.), radioactive items and various dangerous goods (explosive items such as detonators, fuses, gunpowder, dynamite, etc., nuclear energy items, etc.).

Understanding these classifications will help shippers make the right decisions when choosing express delivery services and ensure that the goods can be transported safely and legally. At the same time, choosing the right express company and service type can effectively reduce costs and improve transportation efficiency. When sending international express, be sure to carefully check the classification of the goods and comply with relevant transportation regulations and restrictions.
