International Express Notes

Notes on international express delivery:

1. Weight billing: The weight of international express parcels is divided into actual weight and volume weight, and the larger of the two is used as the basis for billing.

2. Volume weight calculation:

The four major international express (DHL, UPS, TNT, FedEX) use the formula (length x width x height) ÷ 5000 to calculate the volume weight.

EMS postal express uses the formula (length x width x height) ÷ 8000 to calculate the volume weight of parcels with any one side of length, width, and height reaching 60cm or more.

3. Minimum billing weight: Goods less than 0.5 kg are billed as 0.5 kg.

4. Billing method:

Goods below 21 kg are billed as small goods, including the first weight and the additional weight, and the billing unit is 0.5 kg.

Goods of 21 kg and above are billed as large goods.

5. Size limit: The specifications of a single piece of goods must ensure that 1 length + 2 height + 2 width is less than 330CM, but each express company may have different requirements.

6. Overweight packaging requirements: Packages weighing more than or equal to 68 kg must be packed with pallets with feet, otherwise they may be rejected.

7. Pre-booking conditions:

The length of a single piece of cargo exceeds 330 cm.

The weight of a single piece of cargo exceeds 68 kg.

The length of a single piece of cargo does not exceed 330 cm and the weight does not exceed 68 kg, but the total weight of a shipment exceeds 300 kg.

Price confirmation: Due to the large changes in international express prices, you need to contact the international express company's salesperson to confirm the price before shipment.

Additional explanation:

Volumetric weight calculation: Volumetric weight is due to the large volume of cargo and the large transportation space occupied, so the express company will convert the volume into weight according to a certain formula to calculate the freight.

Size limit: The size limit is to ensure that the cargo can be smoothly loaded and unloaded and transported during transportation, avoiding damage or delays caused by excessive size.

Pre-booking: For oversized or overweight cargo, pre-booking can ensure that the cargo has enough space and resources for transportation, avoiding problems during transportation.

Price confirmation: Since international express prices are affected by many factors, such as cargo weight, volume, destination, mode of transportation, etc., it is very important to confirm the price with the express company before shipment.
